Battlefield




Battlefield is the first intra-college robotics competition organized by Phoenix, the official Tech-club of Netaji Subhash Engineering College, to be held on 3rd and 4th Feb 2012. The aim of this event is to design and build an efficient manually controlled bot which can navigate through different types of surfaces, hills & other such obstacles



Bot Specifications



  • Robot should fit into a square of 30cm*30cm(l*b).
  • The robot should be self contained.
  • The power supply used can be a maximum of 24Volts rated and voltage boosters cannot be used.
  • IC engines should not be used.

Event Format



  • The event will be held in 2 rounds : Preliminary round and Final round.
  • Initially the bot will be placed at the starting position START and the bot has to stop at the STOP position.
  • The Bot has to cross the given OBSTACLES(RAILS,SAND,OVERBRIDGE,STONECHIPS etc). and stop at the STOP position.
  • The bot has to touch at least 1 check point.
  • Each match will have a duration of 3 minutes.
  • Slots are made available at the beginning of the game and no changes will be made further on.
  • The winner will be declared based on the points secured during the match and the winning team will get direct entry in final round of any one manual robotics event in AVENIR 2012.


Scoring Rules and Judging Criteria



  • 100 points for crossing sand pits and stone pits.
  • 200 points for crossing rail tracks.
  • 300 points for crossing overbridge.
  • 50 check points for crossing every flag.

TOTAL POINTS = [100Pts(sand pit)+100pts(stones pit)+200pts(overbridge)+(n*50p?ts)-(t*10pts)-(h*10pts)]

n-number of check points.

t-total time to complete the task in secs.

h-number of hand touches.


In case of a draw judges will decide the result.

Judges decision will be final and irrevocable.



Rules and Regulations



  • The competition is open to the first and second year students of Netaji Subhash Engineering College only.
  • A team may consist of 4 members at the most.
  • Each and every participant should have a valid id card.
  • Each round will last for 3 minutes.
  • Maximum of two operators are allowed to control the bot.
  • Participants are requested to have necessary protection for their circuits.
  • Damaging the arena is strictly not allowed.
  • Participants should take care of their controlling wires.
  • The bot should not split into two at any point of time.


Points to be noted



  • Including prizes all the winning teams will get direct entry in final round of any one manual robotics event of AVENIR 2012 according to their choice.
  • Prelims: 3rd February 2012
  • Final: 4th February 2012
  • Registration fee: Rs 100 per team.
  • Registration will start from 9th Jan 2012 and last date of registration will be 30th Jan 2012.
  • Registration will be done only in the Phoenix room. Participants are requested to submit their money only to the specified persons: Kamal Bahety, Sushant kumar and Shruti Sangam.
  • Money recipt will be given which participants have to show at the time of event.
  • Event organizers will be not responsible if your money recipt is lost in any case.
