History of PHOENIX, the official tech club of Netaji Subhash Engineering College, dates back to 2006, when seven seniors from the college decided to form a platform that would think beyond just the academic courses that everyone of us study in college. With the vision of forming a conglomerate of like minded people and to provide a secure platform to the juniors, these seniors stayed up late in the college, burned their midnight oil and spent sleepless nights, till the idea of "Phoenix" - As the Tech-Club occurred to them sitting in the Mashir Dokan. Since that February evening of 2006, till this date, Phoenix didn't have to look back. The biggest challenge and target back then was, as in Abir Da's words, "Phoenix should exist as long as NSEC does"

Initial beginning of phoenix was marked by a subscription of Rs 100 from these 7 seniors, to today, when it has more than thousands of members. Every member of NSEC today is officially a member of Phoenix, and standing now, Phoenix has not only gained the position of "Official Tech Club" of the college, but also has become well known in other colleges.

The entire functioning of Phoenix now stands on its four pillars, The PR Team, the Creative Team, the Database Team and the Web Team. Besides the Core Committee members, the seniors and pass-out batches have constantly guided all the members for making our effort even better, and helping us for anything we ever needed. Today, besides organizing the 3 mega events: Avenir - the annual tech fest, Brainstormer - The inter college quiz and Kurukshetra - the Intra college debate competition, Phoenix holds regular forums. Presently they are: The C Forum, The Robotix Forum, The SSPD forum and the Web Designing Forum, dedicated to the effort to equip the students with sound technical background and management skills, besides preparing them for campussing and job interviews and always striving for excellence and perfection.

Phoenix is for all those people who want to make a difference, who like to dream and strive to change it to reality. Every single of its members today is an asset to the institution. Today, we are proud to follow what had been laid long back as, "Come, Let's Rise"

Phoenix being a club, it follows an organisational hierarchy and has a committee which is responsible for the smooth execution of it's various. The Phoenix committee is divided into two sections:

• Core Committee
• Working Committee

The Committee is annual in nature and is re-instituted every Avenir, our annual technical fest.
