Photography Forum

The Photography forum of Phoenix, christened 'Lensified' held its first ever forum on 17th October 2011. Students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th years were present. There was discussion on primarily on three areas:

• 1. Rule Of Thirds
• 2. Diagonal Rule
• 3. Balancing a composition

Everybody had something to contribute and learn from, it was a delightful experience with presence of a lot of budding photographers. They were shown some compositions on laptops too.

On 20th October 2011 we had an informal photowalk mainly among the senior 3rd year members and a few juniors as well, to the streets of North Kolkata. The pictures taken there are in the Lensified group on Facebook.

The next week, on 28th October, we again had a forum, this time we discussed about the difficulties faced during clicking a picture.

On 7th November we had the first official photowalk to Bow Barracks region, Nakhoda Masjid, etc. There was a good response from the 1st and 2nd years this time.

Before everyone became busy with the internals etc and semester fever, on 11th November we had another forum where there was criticism and appreciation individually on everyone's photography. Their shortcomings and good points were held up to help them later on.

After college reopens we will soon have our next forum and the date and time will be informed in respective classes by the PR team. For information regarding the next photowalk, which will be before college reopens, keep an eye on the 'Lensified' group on facebook.
